Activity :

How to teach grammar : The procedure is as follows :

Put some marbles in the left frame of the first drawing … put more marbles in the right frame … and read as follows … ” [ ] is less than [ ].

In the left frame of the second sketch, a few crows were placed in the right frame, and less crows were placed … and read. [ ] Is greater than [ ]

Now put some marbles in the left frame of the third line and same in the right frame … and read … “[ ] is equal to [ ]
Do follow the activity for several times and read in this way by changing the number of marbles in each of the three drawings, and then ask the students to say the same.
After adequate reading practice, the students were asked to record their observations on the various frames of the three sketches.

How to teach Grammar : Ask following questions to students to test whether concept is grasped or not ?


 1) Why did you read [ ] Less than ?
Children’s response- “Because there are less marbles in the left window than there are marbles in the right window ..!”
 2) Why did you read [ ] Greater than ?
Children’s response- “Because there are more crows in the left window than there are crows in the right window ..!”
 3) Why did you read [ ] equal to [ ] ? 
Children’s response – “Because the number of crows in the left and right windows is the same ..!”

 ( In this place ‘Less than’ means ‘less than’ … Greater than means more than … and equal to means equal … This was easily noticed by the students … Now you will see the result that students themselves tell the answers.
